Flathead School Snack Program
Purpose
Since the fall of 2017 the Flathead School Snack Program has been providing healthy snacks during and after school to students in need. We believe that students should never feel less than or left out simply because they are unable to bring enough food to school. It is our joy and privilege, with help from our local community donations and work from our volunteers, to provide these students with nutritious, healthy snacks and a positive encouraging note to get them through their school week.
Who We Serve
Currently the Flathead School Snack Program (FSSP) is serving over 700 students in 15 schools in Kalispell, 2 schools in Columbia Falls, along with several students in Kila, Lakeside, Creston, West Valley and more! The need in our Valley is only growing and there are more and more schools who have students who can benefit greatly from our program.
How you can Help
The average cost per student, in order to benefit from our program, is about $15 per month. Therefore, we are seeking donations of non-perishable, kid-appropriate snacks and/or monies to purchase the same to fee all children in need consistently, along with helping the program to grow in order to include more children in need (tax ID # provided for any tax write-off purposes).
If you are not able to donate snacks or monies, but would love to generously donate your time in order to aid the FSSP, please contact us. We could always use help to pack our snacks and/or deliver our snacks to the local schools. No amount of time that you are willing to donate is too large or too small!
Isn’t it wonderful to be a part of a community that can provide an immediate response to fill a need?
Would you please consider partnering with us to help put a stop to hunger for our LOCAL students?
